iTunes has just told me I’ve played this 14 times since downloading it last night, but to be honest, I’m surprised it wasn’t more. Musically speaking I’ve experienced a sluggish start to 2014 and struggled to find my mojo, but this nu-soul/pop-laced gem is so sublime it’s got me grinning like a giddy teenager.

Introduced to it by my savvy friend Joe (who also makes very tasty tunes under the moniker .motif) during an afters session in Bristol last Sunday, we both sat a little dumbstruck trying to unpack its brilliance.

Produced by Machinedrum, who’s more readily associated with jungle, footwork and drum’n’bass, having released his debut album ‘Vapour City’ on Ninja Tune last year, this is a masterclass in next level studio wizardry; that bassline, those chords and vocal harmonies…deliciously good! – Clare
